Resident of Necropolis spotted shopping on department store!

It’s time to celebrate even in the afterlife! Last night I spotted a resident of Necropolis doing some last minute shop in a department store, and as you can see, he had completely embraced the Xmas season ( maybe he was even buying some gifts for Skeletica, who knows?)

Last weekend during the Staley’s celebration in Sydney I had the fantastic opportunity to meet great names of the comics and illustration industry in Australia and in the world. It was a blast and an honor to be able to talk to some of my idols as the extraordinary illustrator/caricaturist for Mad magazine, Tom Richmond

and the Pulitzer award-winner Pat Oliphant; the “Walt Disney” from India, Cartoonist Pran Kumar was an interesting bonus. I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet all the talented cartoonists from ACA, that were there sharing experiences and stories during all weekend.I was also amazed to see how talented the new generation of cartoonist in Australia is (yeah, I’m talking about you Sarah Murray and friends)!

I was very surprised and proud to find out that I’m the first cartoonist from Brazil and South America to become a member of the Australian Cartoonists’ Association ACA.

I would like to thank Jules Faber (ACA president), Peter Broelman (ACA membership secretary), Carolina Meehan (Journalist, friend and avid supporter) and all ACA members and guests who contributed to make the weekend a great event.

Hey Guys, a lot has been happening around here… to start, last Halloween (31/10/09) Skeletica’s webcomics celebrated one year online! It  was so cool I couldn’t have imagined how gratifying it would be when I published my first strip in English, one year ago. I would like to thank all of you who wrote notes, messages or just visited the website last year.

During  the following weeks, we will have a lot of news around here, new sections in the website and some surprises…just check the blog  or the brand new Skeletica’s FACEBOOK page. Don’t forget to Become a Fan on the Facebook page to be the first to receive all the news and promotions.

I’m very excited today as well because this weekend,  I will be attending the 25th Stanley Awards in Darling Harbour – Sydney – The Stanleys are the biggest prize for the comics’ industry in Australia promoted by the Australian Cartoonists’ Association (ACA). It will be three days of conferences featuring big names as the Pulitzer Award-winning editorial cartoonist Pat Oliphant, ACA Cartoon exhibition and of course a Black tie night where the actual Awards are handed to the best of the year!

And as if all that happening wasn’t enough, this weekend will be really very special to me  because I just got granted the right to be a member and feature in the ACA website among great names of comics and cartoon in Australia . I don’t need to say that, but …I am  really so proud to be part of the Australian Cartoonists’ Association! Thank you guys!

I think that is it for now… I will be publishing some pictures of the event, on Skeletica’s FACEBOOK and here as soon as I can!

Hey Guys, Wow its October again! I can’t believe, the time flies…last year at this time I was working hard to finish the Skeletica website in time to be launched for the Halloween day, and now we are celebrating 1 year online, it is so cool! I’m really so happy to have all of you here, every week, reading the Skeletica adventures. I must thank, as well , to you all who have written us e-mails, sometimes giving suggestions to improve the website, asking questions about the characters and story lines or simple to say hi, It has been very helpful and a blast to meet so many nice people from all around the world.

New gear for Halloween Just Added!!! Cards, Shirts, buttons and more for a limited time only on the store!

Because of all that I think this first birthday should be very special, and I will have some surprises during all month. The first one is that I just launched the Webcomics section where I will be publishing Skeletica’s long adventures. The first story is entitled “Death Becomes her?” and the first page is already online in the WEBCOMICS Section. I love Halloween and if you like this season as I do, it will be a good idea to have a look in the Necromall section! I just launched a new exclusive design featuring the DBH Logo of the new Skeletica Adventure “Death becomes her?” “Gossip Kin”, the Necropolis Jack O’lantern and Gossip monger, that will just be available for a short period of time in our Shopping store. The Habour Bridge (Sydney) hide in the red dust last wednesday.

Hello Guys…

"Libra" from Skeletica Zodiacal series now available as a free e-card at the POST MORTEN section.

This was a very unusual week in Sydney, you probably have seen on the news, about the red dust  that covered the city… was great to wake up in the morning and see my room filled with a red glow! I thought to myself… wow so earlier in the morning and the sun is that strong ? When I open the drapes, I was really surprised! Did I die and woke up in Mars? Hahaha, I felt  like I was in the middle of the set of “The mist”  the fog was red, but you got my point… and I was just waiting for the monsters to show up…but then after a quick look on the internet… I discovered  that was just dust!!! However, was a very cool day, and I was very inspired drawing this  week strip and  some other projects that I will be publishing very soon!

This week as well I have added a new  Skeletica Zodiacal card  to our free  post card section…  This time is “Libra” . So check  which of your friends are born under this star sign and surprise them with  our exclusive free post cards, but if you want something a bit more “special” visit the Necromall store!

Hello again… yeah I know … long time with no posts… I really need to apologize about that and about the unstable upgrade of Skeletica’s strips … I had some family problems, and I was a bit… I can say… busy around here!

I will be writing here at least once a week to let you guys know about some exciting news around Necropolis , especially now that we are on the verge of commemorate our first year online, wow a big thank to all of you who frequently visit the website .

I  have been planning some changes in the website and  craving for some time now to restart writing and drawing long stories. I love work with strips, but sometimes I feel like a need a bit more canvas to picture Skeletica’s “world”,  With that in mind I decided to change the strips schedule a bit, and I will be updating just once a week… but in parallel, I will be publishing long stories as well, starting in October on the WEBCOMICS section.

As part of all that changes, Every month I will be adding  on the POST MORTEM section, a new free e-card based in the 12 signs of the zodiac from the series “Skeletica Zodiacal”. The first one, the sign of “Virgo” , is already there, and if you liked you can have it on shirts, mugs, journals and a lot more visiting the newly open “NECRO MALL” Skeletica’s official online store.
